As this post is being published, I am on my way to the beach, God willing. I'm definitely taking my computer, so I'll still be posting. I may even share a few beach pictures with you guys. I'll probably do a little work while I'm at the beach, just so things don't feel so tight when I return home. If you read my earlier post, then you know what I'm talking about.

I really feel lucky that my job (transcription) is something I can do from anywhere. So I'll try real hard not to complain. And if everything goes as planned, the cable should be up and running on Monday morning at the beach, in time for me to start posting any good job leads I find. Yeeha!

Don't Fall for the Latest Work from Home Scam

 

There's a new work at home scam out there, and the scammer is posing as the U.S. government.  It starts with a recording that says the government is hiring home workers to call people who have recently sold their home, and are due a refund, but never received it.

After that, it follows the usual M.O.  You're asked to press a number to speak to a live person, then you're told you'll need to pay $69 for a starter kit.  This is NOT the federal government, folks.  Don't fall for it.  To read more, see this story at The Columbian

Should This Work-at-Home Mom Work on Vacation?

 

We're supposed to go on vacation tomorrow. And although I'm really excited, I'm also frustrated, because I feel like I need to work some while I'm on vacation. I really can't afford to make absolutely no income while I'm gone. After all, when I get back, the bills will still be waiting, and the rent will still have to be paid.

I'm taking my computer so I can keep this blog up and running anyway. But I feel like I have no choice but to also take some transcription work while I'm at the beach. What do you think? Do you ever take your work with you on vacation? Am I crazy or just realistic?

I've taken work on all of my last 4 or 5 vacations, and I still had fun. But what I wouldn't give to just relax and put work out of my mind. Hmm...
