Community Health Systems is seeking a remote inpatient coder. This is a telecommute position. You must reside in the U.S. A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Also required:
AHIMA, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT required, plus three years of coding and abstracting experience in ICD-9-CM, CPT/HCPCS, including MSDRGs, modifiers, and APCs and:
1) Thorough knowledge of the related prospective payment systems (PPS)
2) Broad knowledge of pharmacology indications for drug usage and related adverse reactions
3) Knowledge of ancillary testing (laboratory, X-ray, EKG)
4) Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
5) Understanding of coding practices and official guidelines
6) Experience with PC, mainframe applications, and encoding systems
7) Auditing skills for coding quality and compliance
8) Strong process management skills
