Work at Home Educational Content Editors for EPIC

The Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC) is seeking consultants for a four-year project designed to improve alignment between secondary and postsecondary education in Texas. The project is sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and is being conducted in three phases.  Currently, they are working with vertical teams in Texas to develop College Readiness Assignments (CRAs) as part of the third phase of implementation. They are now seeking content editors to review draft versions of CRAs in the following subject areas: Biology, Chemistry, English, Government, History, Math, and Physics. 

Chosen editors will be responsible for content and copyediting of manuscripts for up to 18 extended performance assessment tasks at the 12th grade level in their assigned subject area.  You will be developing illustration specifications, obtaining permissions, if needed, and keeping records of those permissions.  You must have a minimum of 3 years writing and editing experience, in addition to teaching experience at the high school level, in the subject area.  You must possess knowlege of the high school subject curriculum, have a college degree in the subject area, and have experience with Microsoft Word.   

Finally, you  must have high-speed Internet, a Web browser, Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to read and manipulate Microsoft Office documents.  Work estimation is 100 hours from mid-July to the end of August.  Compensation is $40 per hour, and will be paid at completion of each task.  Questions about this project can be directed to: Adrienne van der Valk at adrienne_vandervalk@epiconline.org.
