Work from Home Web Editor for Under the Microscope

UndertheMicroscope.com, the website of the Feminist Press Women and Science Project funded by the National Science Foundation, is seeking a Web editor/manager to be responsible for not only the overall management of the site, but also writing articles and blog entries, recruiting and managing interns and bloggers, soliciting stories and content from other sources (e.g., women scientists), editing and approving all content, responding to email from readers, and working with the team to develop various sections of the site (Stories, Resources, Under the Lens, etc.).

In addition, you will stay in communication with the Feminist Press editorial staff to ensure that the site content is consistent with the FP mission, and promote the site through social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter. You must have online writing and editing experience and a familiarity with researching and sizing images (Photoshop experience a plus). In addition, you must have prior experience working with content management systems, preferably Joomla 1.0.  A science background is a plus.  Compensation is hourly.  If interested in this opportunity, please send your resume and a sample of your writing to: pr@underthemicroscope.com.
