Latest Savings Craze: Playing the CVS Game

I read an article last week about the latest savings craze circling the Internet. It's the CVS Savings Game. It started, I believe, when Get Rich Slowly posted its article How to Save Hundreds by Playing the Drugstore Game. It was a guest post by Cathy at Chief Family Officer, also a great site.

Now I'll have to say that after reading it, I thought: too much work. It did sound like a great way to save money. But it sounded like a drain on my already depleted brain cells. So I filed it away in my noggin and figured I'd take a look into it later.

Then today, I see WiseBread's Carrie Kirby's post Drugstore Freebies: More Than Junk Food and Harsh Chemicals. Carrie's first reaction was similar to mine. Too much work. Not enough payoff. But then she actually tried it out and got some pretty impressive results. And now she's one of the converted.

If you'd like to know more about how the CVS Game works, take a look at the two posts above. After rereading the first and having a look at Carrie's post, I may have to fire up my brain cells and try it out myself.

To top it off, I found a great link to this coupon at Chief Family Officer. It's a $10 off coupon on a $30 in-store purchase at Walgreen's. It's good only on May 30th, however. So jump right on it if you want to take advantage.

Ka-ching!
