Make Vacation Memories and Save Money at the Same Time

The last amusement park my kids and I hit was Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. We purchased a 3-in-1 package for Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country, and Busch Gardens. Colonial Williamsburg was, by far, my favorite. We've been twice now, and it's my favorite place to visit. It's like going back in time. And oddly enough, the children really seemed to enjoy it too.

Of course, they were preteens then. They're teenagers now. So the pace of it might be a little slow for them. But they still talk about the night we went to hear ghost stories by candlelight in a spooky, old house in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg. As the gnarled old woman telling ghost stories uttered her last word, it began to thunder and lightening outside.

And before we knew it, we were running down the streets of Colonial Williamsburg in a pounding rain. The kids loved it! It's one of our favorite memories. We were drenched and laughing and scared all at the same time.

Well, enough of my vacation memories! Shannon Christman at SavingAdvice.com just posted an article on saving money when hitting the amusement parks. And there are lots of great tips there that I'd never heard. If you're thinking about visiting an amusement park this spring or summer, you should give it a read.
