Work at Home Moms Know How to Live Well on Less

Changing to a frugal lifestyle is best taken on in baby steps.  But sometimes, you're given no choice.  You have to dive right in, whether due to a crisis or divorce or some other life altering event.

I was thrown into living frugally seven years ago, when  my husband and I separated, and I suddenly had to raise three daughters under drastically different circumstances.  It was hard, but I made it.  At the time, though, I didn't have the resources that are available now.  There wasn't as much information freely available on living on a budget.

I just discovered a new resource.  It's Like Merchant Ships, and I want to share the author's five-part series, How to Live Well on Less.  Don't let the post entitled "Managing Servants" throw you.  The servants here are household appliances.  Enjoy!

Work at Home Mom Dilemma: Are You Overqualified?

I frequent several work-at-home mom message boards, and one of the things I hear frequently is many are being turned down for a job because they're, quote, "overqualified."  How can you be "over" qualified?  In  my mind, you're either qualified, or you're not.

Unfortunately, that's not how many employers see it.  They fear overqualified applicants will become bored with the work quickly and quit, and there goes their invested time in training. Or, alternately, overqualified applicants will find a better job and jump ship, leaving the employer high and dry.

No matter what the reason, it seems singularly cruel to be told you're overqualified for a position, when you're desperate for work.

But there may be a way to get past this roadblock.  I found a great article by Ann Hartter at SavingAdvice.com.  It's "You're Overqualified": How to Beat the One-Liner and Get the Job.  Read and it be prepared the next time you're told, "I'm sorry, but you're overqualified for this position."

How to Make Money Online with HubPages

A while back, I wrote a post on how to make money with Squidoo Lenses and got roundly pounded for it by someone who knew much, much more than I did on the subject - which I deserved.  There's nothing worse than someone who knows a little on a subject, writing about something and vastly oversimplifying it.

So I won't make that mistake again.  I'll say, right off the bat, I know very little about making money with HubPages.  But this guy knows a lot about making money online, and he has given the floor of his blog to someone who has had some success with making money utilizing HugPages.  I therefore point you to this post: What are HubPages?  I found the information quite helpful, and I'm sure you will also.
