I'm generally pretty tight with money.  My kids will tell you that growing up, they rarely got a new toy unless it was their birthday or Christmas.  We didn't hit Toys R Us every week like some of their friends' families did.  But at Christmas, I loosen up the purse strings.  After all, it's only once a year.  Right?

We can all remember a Christmas when we spent too much, ate too much, fill in the blank... This year, I won't be spending as much as I have in the past.  The economy's not looking great right now, and I feel like a better way to take care of my kids is to put money into savings.
