How Google Alerts Can Save You Money

I've been using Google Alerts for some time for tracking news and subjects I'm interested in.  But I never thought about using it to save money until a few days ago.  If you're interested in purchasing a particular item, type it in as a search term with the word "deal," "coupon," or "sale."

You can also set up Google Alerts for phrases like "frugal tips" "money saving tips," "save money," "frugal," "personal finance."  You get the picture.  Then just sit back and watch the alerts roll in.  You might want to set up a separate Yahoo email for this purpose, just to avoid cluttering your regular email.  I set mine to come once a day for each term.  That way, it's not overwhelming.  Enjoy!
